The following youth talents from all over India were felicitated during the All
India Jain Mahila Sammelan: Smt. Uma Garg of New Delhi (Music); Kumari Prachi
Shah of Mumbai (Dance); Kumari Veena Ajmera of Rajasthan (Folk Dance), Dr.Kusuma
Jain from Udaipur in Rajasthan; Kumari Nikita Rajendran from Mysore in Karnataka
(Sports); Kumari Garima Jain from Indore in Madhya Pradesh; Kumari Kusuma Prasad
from Tumkur in Karnataka (Dance); Dr.Padmarekha Jiragi from Kolhapur in
Maharashtra (Medicine) were felicitated in an attractive function.
IMPRESSIVE CULTURAL PROGRAMMES

As part of the three day All India Jain Women Conference organised at
Shravanabelagola from 18th to 20th November 2006 various cultural programmes
were organised on all the days. Smt.Pushpa Shanthiverma Jain of Kerala
inaugurated the cultural programmes. Sri Adinath Digambar Jain Mandir Mahila
Samaj of Bangalore, Khandelwal Sri Digambar Jain Mahila Samithi, Nritya
Kalashala of Hassan, Kumari Garima Jain of Indore, Ratnatraya Yuva VEdike of
Bangalore, Jain Mahila SAbha of Mangalore and Kumari Veena Ajmera of Rajasthan
presented their cultural programmes.

SALUMARADA TIMMAKKA PRESENTED
WITH RS. 25,000

Salumarada Timmakka, a lady popularly known for here planting of plants project
so as to conserve the environment was presented with Rs. 25,000 during the All
Indian Jain Women Conference Held at Shravanabelagola. His Holiness Swasti Sri
Charukeerthi Bhattarakha Swamiji the pontiff of the Shravanabelagola Jain Mutt
felicitated her and presented a cheque of Rs. 25,000.
JAIN SAHITYA SAMMELAN ON AASTHA

TV one of the popular TV Channels telecasted the proceedings of the All
Karnataka Jain Sahitya Sammelan held at Shravanabelagola on the 22nd and 23rd
October, 2005. The proceedings were telecasted from 14th to 21st November, 2005.
BUS FACILITIES TO MYSORE AND
BANGALORE
Hassan, Dec 1: In view of
the ensuing Mahamasthakabhisheka of Lord Bahubali at Shravanabelagola the
Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation has started new buses to MYsore and
Bangalore from Shravanabelagola. The busses would leave for Mysore at 11.30 am
and to Bangalore at 6.00 pm daily from Shravanabelagola. Busses from Mysore
would leave for Shravanabelagola at 12 noon and 2.30 pm and from Bangalore at
6.30 am, 11.30 am, 2 pm and 5 pm.
SPECIAL BUSSES ON THE OCCASION
OF MAHAMASTHAKABHISHEKA
Bangalore, Dec 1: Sri
Gulabchand, convener if the transport sub committee of the Mahamasthakabhisheka
Mahotsava 2006 has informed that the Karnataka State Road Transport
Corporation (K.S.R.T.C.) of the Government of Karnataka has agreed to start
special busses on the occasion of the Mahamasthakabhisheka. He has requested the
members of the local Jain samaj to contact their nearest K.S.R.T.C. bus depots
to make bookings for the event.
BHARATESHA EXHIBITION
Shravanabelagola, Dec 1:
The Bharatesha Exhibition aimed to exhibiting the Jaina art
forms is planned over an area of eight acres at Shravanabelagola on the occasion
of the Mahamasthakabhisheka of Lord Bahubali in February 2006. The deputy
commissioner of the Hassan district, Sri Aswath Narayana Gowda has informed
this. He has said that the exhibition would be organised from 22nd
January, 2006 to 28th February, 2006. He informed this at a meeting chaired by
him to review the progress of the exhibition. He said that around 125 stalls
would be put up at the exhibition. He further informed that cultural programmes
would be organised every evening at the exhibition venue.
His Holiness Swasti Sri
Charukeerthi Bhattarakha Swamiji the pontiff of the Shravanabelagola Jain Mutt
gave his suggestions in the meeting. He informed that as per tradition the wife
of the Chief Minister would inaugurate the exhibition.
FREE HAIR LIP SURGERY CAMP
Shravanabelagola, Dec 1:
Sri H.N.Rajendra Kumar president of the Janakalyana Sub Committee of the
Mahamasthakabhisheka Mahotsava - 2006 has informed that a Free Hair Lip
Surgery Camp has been organised at the Children hospital near Dhavalatertham,
Shravanabelagola on 11th December 2006. He has informed that this programme has
been organised as a part of the Jana Kalyana Sub Committee. Interested persons
can register for the surgery on or before 11th December, 2006.
RS. 159 CRORES SPENT ON RAILWAY
ROUTE
New Delhi, Dec 8: Sri
R.Velu, minister of state for railways, Government of Indian has informed to the
Loksabha that Rs. 159.89 Crores has been spent on the Hassan Bangalore broad
gauge railway route that passes through Shravanabelagola. He has informed that
the estimated cost of the 166 Km long route would be around Rs. 412.91 crores.
Further he has informed that Rs. 20 crores has been earmarked for the project in
the current finanacial year and said that the Hassan - Shravanabelagola route is
almost under completion and would be inaugurated shortly. He added that the land
acquisition work for the 110 Km long Shravanabelagola - Nelamangala route has
begun.
