Shravanabelagola, a small town, administered by the village panchayat has gained the luster of a semi urban civilization by virtue of itself being a pilgrim place for the Jains and a tourist destination. It is well equipped with good accommodation facilities with as many as 28 guest houses to accommodate around 2000 visitors per day. With the mahamasthakabhisheka fast approaching the Jain Mutt and the Government of Karnataka have taken up the construction of five more guest houses. Nearly 90% of these guest houses would be occupied by the donors during the event and the remaining percentage being reserved for dignitaries. Hence the tourists and pilgrims visiting Shravanabelagola during the event will have to rely on the temporary accommodation provided by the accommodation sub committee.

The committee plans to have five types of cottages being classified into A, B, C, D & E. All the cottages would be built of zinc sheets and coir matt flooring. The first three types would be having attached bath and toilet facilities and the other two being dormitories. The different price ranges and the dimensions of the cottages are as below:

Please Note: Kalasha pass holders shall be accommodated in Kalasha Nagar and the lodging facilities would be provided in the tin roofed rooms which would be around 10 minutes walk from the Kalasha Nagar to the Panchakalyana phandal. Transport and boarding facilities would be provided at the Kalasha Nagar. The Tygai Nivas would be constructed very near to the Panchakalyana phandal. The parking facilities for the visitors arriving by vehicles would be provided very near the Kalasha Nagar. For people those who obtain the Kalashas on 8th, 9th and 10th February 2006 the accommodation facilities would be provided from 4th February 2006. The days of special programmes, i.e. 11th, 14th and 17th February 2006 would be considered as accommodation transformation days. The people who have finished offering the abhishekha will have to vacate their rooms there by making way for the next set of people arriving to offer the abhishekha.
