Shravanabelagola (Hassan District, Karnataka), June 17, 2017: As a part of the Gommateshwara Bhagawan Sri Sri Sri Bahubali Swami Mahamasthakabhisheka Mahotsava – 2018 celebration’s JanaKalyana Programme (People Welfare Programme) an ENT camp was organised at Sri Kshetra Shravanabelagola on 18th June 2017 under the guidance of His Holiness Swasti Sri Charukeerthi Bhattarakha Swamiji, pontiff of Shravanabelagola Jain Math.

Speaking on the occasion His Holiness Swamiji opined that “JanaKalyana Programmes are equally important as much as the Mahamasthakabhisheka of Lord Bahubali at Shravanabelagola. A human being cannot be happy by money. Instead good health is much more important than money for ones happiness. Usually people in the rural parts of India are very ignorant about their health. Arranging such health related camps will help in bringing about health awareness among the rural folk”. He further said that – as a part of the Mahamasthakabhisheka Celebrations a series of programmes such as dental camp, artificial limb alignment camp, eye camp, split lip rectification camp, Diabetes Camp, distribution of tricycle to the handicap and other projects have been organised for helping the rural folk around Shravanabelagola. He recalled the Eye Camp that was organised during the 1981 Mahamastakabhisheka Mahotsava wherein 1000 people were operated for eye related ailments.

Speaking on the occasion Shravanabelagola MLA Sri C.N.Balakrishna appreciated the efforts put forth by the Mahamasthakabhisheka Committee under the leadership of of His Holiness Swamiji in organising such JanaKalyana programmes. It clearly indicates that Swamiji is not just a spiritual Guru instead he is a Visionary Guru with hummanitarian thoughts.

Sri M.A.Gopala Swamy the member of Legislative assembly said that already 40 crores rupees funds have been released by the Government of Karnataka and assured that he will mount further pressure on the public works department (PWD) to take up the related projects at complete them on time before the Mahamastakabhisheka Mahotsava – 2018.
