KOLAR: Once the capital of Ganga kings. It has two ancient temples Kolaramma and Someshwara. Kolar is the haunt of Rock climbers.

CHINTAMANI: Founded by a Maratha Chieftain. Now it is a bustling industrial town specialising in Gold, Silver and precious stones.

KOLAR GOLD FIELDS (KGF): Was the oldest and the deepest gold mines in the country, founded by the British. It was recently closed.

NANDI HILLS: The summer retreat of Tippu Sultan, Nandi hills was popular with the British and favourits week end spot for Bangaloreans.

CHIKKA TIRUPATI: Famous for Vishnu Temple, worshipped as Venkata Ramana Swamy, situated in Malur taluk.

BETHAMANGALA: It is a small town on the right bank of River Palar. It has famous Anjenaya Temple and Vijayaranga Swamy Temple.
