the "City of Palaces", Mysore was the capital of the Wodeyar Kings. The
Maharaja's Palace, the Jaganmohan Palace Museum, St.Philomena's Church,
Zoo and the Bannimantap are exciting spots.
CHAMUNDI HILLS: A
famous temple atop a hill. There is massive stone Nandi at the Hill. A
giant Mahishasura statue looms over you.
GOPALASWAMY BETTA
(HILL): It is a fine hill resort and a pilgrim centre. On the summit
of the hill is the famous Gopala Swamy temple.
SOMNATHPUR: Famous
Hoysala temple of Lord Chennakeshava.
TALAKADU: Historic
town. Also known as Khajuraho of Karnataka.
NANJANGUD: A famous
pilgrim centre. I famous for the Nanjundeshwara temple. This temple is
said to be the biggest temple in Karnataka.
KARAPUR: A major
jungle resort run by Jungle Lodges and Resorts.
NAGARAHOLE: Famous
for wildlife.
